General

Is there usually a wait?

We are a small restaurant with just 15 seats in our dining room and 22 seats on our patio.  At this time, our peak times are 11:00-2:00 and 6:30-8:00.  Any other time of day, one can usually find a table without a wait.  Call in orders are always accepted for take out.

Do you accept reservations?

Because of the small size of our restaurant, we do not accept reservations but you are welcome to walk in anytime.  We recommend large groups plan to visit us during non-peak hours.

Do you accept credit cards?

As with the original Colossal Cafe restaurant, we do not accept credit cards. We accept cash and local checks. Fortunately, we do have a cash machine conveniently located inside the restaurant.

Do you offer catering?

Yes! We now offer catering options for your convenience. Please view or download our catering menu here, or via our Menu page. Please contact us at (612) 729-2377 for all orders or questions. (Please note that a 24-hour minimum notice is required.)

Do you have any vegetarian/vegan options?

 

We have several vegetarian options on the menu. Our “My Main Cheese” sandwich is always vegetarian. Many of our soups and salads are vegetarian/vegan or can be modified to be so.  We also offer a “Vegan Sandwich of the Moment”!  Please call to hear about the daily special.
Are there gluten-free options?
Absolutely. We offer gluten-free bread substitutions upon request. We charge $2.00 for the substitution.

 

Do you allow food substitutions?
Yes. We are happy to substitute ingredients for our customers whenever it is possible. Certainly, feel free to make a request and we will see what we can do.

 

Do you have a PDF menu?

Accommodations

Is it family-friendly?
Yes! Children are very welcome. We have a Kid’s Menu (see our Menu page) and we have one high chair to provide for guests.  If you are bringing more than one child, you are welcome to bring additional high chairs or booster seats.
Is it handicap-accessible?
Yes, we are wheelchair accessible. We are a small restaurant and the tables are tightly arranged, but we will happily adjust the table configuration for the comfort of our guests.
Is there free parking?
We do not have our own parking lot, but there is usually ample street parking available for free.

Where did the old Colossal go?!
Don’t fret! Colossal Café has moved just ten blocks away and is now located on the corner of 38th Street and 24th Avenue in Minneapolis. (Google Map)
